About Avanti:

                      Avanti Fellows is among India’s largest and most impactful nonprofits. Established in 2010, Avanti has been awarded the Echoing Green Fellowship, Draper Richards Kaplan Fellowship and Ashoka Fellowship. Avanti’s mission is to create equity and excellence in STEM education in government schools by effectively integrating innovations in product, pedagogy, technology and teacher education into the classroom. They work with over 50,000 students across two school systems, the Haryana Government Schools and the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. In both school systems, Avanti is working towards enabling government school teachers to implement high-impact, technology-led blended learning classrooms from Grade 9 - 12. Over the past 9 years, Avanti has validated the effectiveness of its approach (Peer Instruction), through multiple research studies including a MacArthur Foundation funded RCT in the Chennai Corporation schools that showed learning gains that showed a greater than 0.6 SD improvement in Mathematics achievement over a single year. Our programs in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas have consistently produced a >50% selection rate on the IIT Joint Entrance Examination - the highest in India.

Location:  Anywhere in India 

Duration: 2-3 months 

Compensation: INR 10,000-15,000 per month 

Responsibilities:

- Design, creation, curation of at-grade and below-grade video content relevant to the target audience of Project Sankalp in Haryana & other projects 

- Creation of at-grade and below-grade quizzes, worksheets and workbooks for various parts of our intervention across Project Sankalp & other projects 

- Creation of Modules with solutions, Test papers with solutions, short-notes in Hindi medium. - Creation of Lesson Plans for the implementation of the Curriculum across various projects 

- Participate in various R&D activities involving standardised Curriculum mapping and creation of curriculum relevant to relevant standards 

- Ensure zero error-rate and timely creation of all content. 

-  Document and analyze student data gathered from classrooms and use it to judge efficacy of teaching practices 

- Collaborate with Avanti’s technology team to design and test features for Avanti’s e-learning platforms

Requirements:

- Well versed in at least one of Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Biology till 10th standard 

- Hindi medium education background till 10th standard is mandatory 

- Good knowledge of Hindi Terminology till 10th standard along with good hand-writing 

- Excellent Translation (from English to hindi) and communication skills

- Should be available for immediate joining

About the program: 

             As an ongoing effort to set skilling as a national priority and transform India into a digital talent hub, CISCO, AICTE, and NASSCOM Future Skills PRIME are launching a virtual internship program to provide 20,000 virtual internships in Cybersecurity through Cisco Networking Academy program. 

                       This unique collaboration between industry and the government will help build a pool of skilled talent significant for future jobs relevant in the industry.

 

                                              Details of this program as indicated below:

1. 2nd and 3rd year engineering students studying in any engineering institutions which is Cisco Networking Academy can participate in this program

2. Students will have to complete Introduction to Cyber Security, Introduction to Packet Tracer and Cyber Security Essentials courses via contacting NetAcad instructor at their institution

3. Once student complete the courses and submit certificate of completion at www.virtualinternship.co.in (approved students will receive link to create account in April 2021), they will be invited for a 3 hours industry session hosted by Cisco.

4. Students will design a secure network for their institutions on Packet Tracer Simulation tool.

5. Once the project work is finished and submitted, students will have to appear for a final quiz.

6. Eligible students will get a virtual internship certificate.

About of NPTEL

                          National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is a project of MHRD created to provide quality education to anyone interested in learning from the IITs. Every January and July, anywhere between 250-300 courses are offered online - free of cost - for anyone to enroll and learn from.

From 2018 summer onward, NPTEL has started offering internships to NOC exam toppers with the respective course instructors.

SAMPLE CERTIFICTAE

PRE INTERNSHIP - STEP 1

Eligibility and Selection:    

• NPTEL office will contact the course instructor to check if they can take in interns from toppers of their respective courses.
• Depending on the availability and affirmation from the course instructor, the course toppers are contacted requesting them to apply for internship if interested.
• The documents are sent to the Course instructor who decides on whether the candidate is eligible for the internship.
• Course instructor decision is final in all matters with respect to selection of candidates.

Duration of internship:

• NPTEL will be offering 2, 4, 6 or 8 weeks internship.
• Such internships are offered once in summer (May/June/July) and winter (Nov/Dec/Jan) each year.

Application:

The candidate should apply to NPTEL along with the following support documents to nptel-internship@nptel.iitm.ac.in

• Copy of your resume
• Last 2 semesters’ grade sheet

The application is forwarded to the course instructor by NPTEL.

Accommodation:

    NPTEL will try to arrange for your accommodation in corresponding internship place, otherwise students try to self.
